However, during our theater interview we were told that UCLA Theater accepted on talent. My interview went great (so I thought). I thought I had a strong portfolio. I just wish I would know what they were judging on. I don't have any strife in my life and haven't had to overcome obstables so my essay was a humourous approach to mother, the flight attendant dragging me around the world for free like an Amazing Race victim to give me a "global" education. I guess UCLA wanted to give me some obstables. :)
But now, if I end up going local in NY, I am wondering what I can do to transfer there junior year, if they didn't want me the first time round.</p>
<p>I found it pretty interesting to see that there were about 15 ppl who were accepted to UCLA from my school alone. Normally we only get 1 or 2. Wonder what happened? Admissions are so weird.</p>
<p>I guess it depends on each senior class - about 1/3 of the UCLA applicants from my school are accepted every year. (That is, usually about 90/350 apply and 30/90 are accepted)</p>

<p>My school has 20+ UCLA acceptances a year. Makes me feel like garbage being rejected since I've taken the same courseload as them, just haven't done as well. Also it was probably a bad move to apply to Computer Science & Eng since most Engineering is insanely hard to get into.</p>
<p>My advice to people next year... apply for Femminist Studies then change majors! haha</p>
