Also with the UCSD, UCLA just sent me a Request for Supplemental Information.
What does it mean? UCLA and UCSD both sent it to me today. What can does it mean?
I’m curious…
I got one from UCLA and Davis, but not from SD. I think everyone who mentioned overcoming an adverse circumstance (financial troubles, injury, etc.) gets a chance to further explain themselves if they feel like they need more room to.
I’m not completely sure though. Some of my friends received the request but their scores and grades aren’t anywhere near good enough for LA.
This isn’t for a chance me or to show off stats but I got one from UCLA, Davis, and UCSD. I had a 33 ACT with 3.77/4 UW and 4.77/5 W GPA at the time of applying so I’m not sure where that puts me but I am low income and have had a chronic illness that affected my sophomore year hence the low gpa. But my GPA after seventh semester is a 3.82 UW and 5.1/5 W if that helps.
I just read my essays and they made me cringe so maybe I wasn’t as good at explaining myself. I also have a lot of leadership positions and threw in a national competitition award in the additional comments section lol. Not sure at all.
I also got requested to send in letters of rec to Berkeley back in December. Do you think its for the same reason as the UCLA/ UCSD/ UCD supplemental questionaires?
@WalnutGirl0303: These schools want clarification in regards to the illness mentioned in your application since you yourself stated that you did not explain things well.
@Gumbymom I explained the illness well but I meant my second essay which I wrote about diversity might not have been as good.
When the schools request for supplements, that means that they had additional questions or concerns with your essay. Filling these out can help you get in (it helped my friend get into UCLA!) as it gives you an extra opportunity to explain yourself, but does not guarantee admission. UCs usually send these out if they want to know more about/verify your activities or personal circumstances (such as illnesses). Hope that helps!
I got one for UCSD and UCLA as well. Should I answer all the questions on the questionnaire or only the ones that apply to me?
All! @swtiecakes
