wow you guys are serious! I was planning on taking 3 classes my first quarter & 4 thereafter… A girl from Ucla called me on Sunday to answer any questions I had and go over orientation and all other transfer info… anyway she recommended 3 classes the first quarter in order to get acclimated… hmmmm

@ciaokarol - Sweet. What are you looking to double minor in?

ciao- what are you double minoring in? see this link for requirements for history major:

[UCLA General Catalog 2009-2010 History Undergraduate Study](http://www.registrar.ucla.edu/catalog/catalog09-10-400.htm#880175816_pgfId-217313)

ciao did you complete igetc certification? have you checked assist.org for the history pre-reqs? have you completed all the prereqs? you can do all this research on your own b4 orientation…

edelynly–italian& film/television. :)

shawna-- my friend who has been going to UCLA since after high school has been taking 3 classes most quarters and she’s not behind, so you could do that and not be wasting time. I think its a good idea to take it easy the first quarter since it is a big change and all.

oh and I got admitted as pre-psych, so those are the pre-reqs I completed. And yes, I did complete igetc. Thanks for the link, I actually already looked up the reqs for the history major. I’m really hoping I am able to make the change.

Already planned out my schedule! Hopefully I get the four classes, haha.

That took a while though! ;x

Good stuff. Hopefully you get them all. I’m only going to take 3 classes, because I also have ROTC. What orientation did you sign up for?

@ciao - That’s awesome! I’m debating on whether I should double minor or double major.

I hope I get all the classes I want, too. I have a 9:30 class on my list - and I know that doesn’t sound early, but I feel like it will be down the road. Hahah…

yeahh. I wanted to double major but you can’t in different colleges :(.

what do you want to double major in?

you guys must have some seriously majors. i have to take a total of 19 classes for biz-econ and an accounting minor. 19 classes/6 units= about 3 classes a quarter, 1 quarter with 4 classes–that is IF i get into my major AND get the classes i need when i need them. i’m still a pre-major.

9:30 is pretty early, haha. Actually one of my discussion groups is scheduled for M at 9 (assuming I get into the class of course) and its on a Monday. (I prefer Mondays/Wednesdays–so I can work the other days of the week!)

I got into Orientation 206, so none of you complain about getting a crappy date, ha-ha!

Women’s studies and global studies! But the workload is so big I don’t know if I should just keep global studies as a minor…

@rhee- Right? Damn. I want to sleep in, haha. What’s your major?

i was actually just reading about the global studies major a couple of minutes ago. It sounds really interesting. There are so many things I want to study, and I am beginning to get sad that I will only be there for two years.

I knowww. I love that you’re not strictly bound to global studies courses; they require a variety of subjects - interesting ones, too.

And seriously. If money weren’t the issue I’d take all the (interesting) courses. Too bad it is, hah. :(

@rhee: i can complain! i have the last orientation date in august. i was crossing my fingers for 201, which is the only other one i would be in the country for (i’m leaving 2 days after 201 and not coming back until a day before the last one). i could have chosen 202 at the time i signed on, but it’s just impossible :(

I’m a Psychobiology major! ^-^

@HigherHopes Wow…man…sorry to hear that. I seriously felt horrible when I could access the Orientation page and such and others on here couldn’t. =/ Have fun leaving the country though, I know I will! We leave tonight! :D

Ugh…while packing, I can’t help but notice all this crap I have…clothes/makeup/other crap I don’t use…I want to just throw it in a hole, ha-ha. Anyone else ready for dorm life?! Because I’m sure as hell not, lol.

“No, once you finish you major(/minor) requirements you can take whatever you can enroll in to finish up your remaining units.”
Is this true? Because if so, then I can plan my classes a bit better.

framlove, yes.

[UCLA General Catalog 2009-2010](http://www.registrar.ucla.edu/catalog/catalog09-10-41.htm#1361019608_pgfId-81142)

It outlines all the requirements there for proof.

-University requirements
-College requirements
-Department requirements

Make sure you plan your classes that you can enroll in them. Some majors have enrollment restrictions.

so what if our major requirements doesn’t fulfill up to 60 upper div units? do we take upper div outside our major? because i would assume there are prereqs in those upper div courses that we would most likely have not satisfied yet.

Do we have to take the Preparation for the Major classes?

framlove, idk if it’s the same case for all the majors, but for mine the “prep” classes can be substituted for upper division ones
