Hey Guys,
I created this thread because I didn’t really see a recent one for transfer students. Anyway, I just received my admission decision last night from UCLA saying that I was rejected. However, I am intent on writing an appeal.
Has anyone recently successfully appealed an admission decision from UCLA? I know of one person who did but that was back in ‘87.
Any knowledge would be appreciated folks, thanks
I wish you luck but what is your basis?
Make sure you have good reason - otherwise, regardless of who has been successful, you can’t expect success. Being mad and groveling isn’t a basis- so hopefully you have new information that changes your overall profile.
Best of luck.
UCLA does not set aside space in our class for students who appeal admission decisions. Therefore, though all appeals are reviewed on a case-by-case basis, the number of decisions reversed on appeal is very low. We advise you to consider the following carefully before you decide to draft an appeal.
Every denied application has gone through extensive reviews. For an appeal to have merit, it must bring to light new academic and personal information, as well as information pertaining to extenuating circumstances, that had not been present in the application — information that clearly shows the student to be stronger than had been earlier evidenced.
