UCLA Summer School Housing? Financial Aid

Hi, I am a newly admitted Transfer student and I am eligible for the Blue and Gold Program. EFC =0 .
My question is, how much does financial aid cover? I have read that fees or cost of summer school is $5500.

I would also like any information about getting a summer school class at UCLA, or summer school in general.

Thank You! -Giovanni

All summer sessions information is here [UCLA Summer Sessions-Home Page](http://www.summer.ucla.edu/).

If you are a UC student, the cost is $271 per unit. So it’ll be more expensive if you take more units of classes. Financial aid over the summer is conservative. At most it will cover a few thousands of dollars in my experience. Even with an EFC of 0, part of the financial aid will consist of loans.

The summer financial aid application is due tomorrow [UCLA Financial Aid Office - FAFSA ON THE WEB](http://www.fao.ucla.edu/summer_aid_info.htm).
Although it might be different depending on which program you enroll in. I’m not sure if it’s different for incoming students.

Summer Housing information here [How to Apply for Summer Housing (1005098)](http://map.ais.ucla.edu/go/1005098).
I have no experience with that.

@phospholipase would you say summer aid is more conservative than regular academic year (like fall) financial aid?

@davedavid From my experience, about $4K is offered as grants/scholarships in the summer, whether I had a cost of attendance of 5K or 8K.
