UCLA Supplemental Information Request?

You aren’t borderline

Am I borderline?
Stats: 1950 SAT
SAT US Hist: 760, SAT Bio E: 740
Unweighted GPA: 4.0, UC GPA: 4.3 but no ELC :frowning:
First gen, good ECs with jobs and some leadership positions, Asian: Vietnamese/Chinese

I got that!!! OOOH idunno if thats good or not!!! So confused because I also received the letter for regents scholarship!!! ***??

im soooooo confused.

That scares me. I didn’t get regents and I thought I had decent stats (4.6GPA, 2240 SAT, 800, 790, 770 SAT II’s); if you got both, what does that say about my chances? Starting to get nervous…

“Someone who thinks they are borderline and didn’t get one should ask UC admissions whats up”

I disagree, I feel like that would just make the applicant appear annoying and a bit too obsessed.

Getting the supplement gives some hope that you have a chance getting in. Good luck!

Absolutely nothing

= critical thinking

I also got regents and the supplement for UCLA. Does UCLA automatically send the supplement to low-income applicants?

Its not really that good of a sign; a good sign is when you get a letter inviting you for an interview for the alumni scholarships, which pretty much means that you’re in. But what it does mean is that your app could go either way, and responding can put you on the good side of the fence. So look up how UCLA evaluated applicants, and put down everything that seems relevant that they allow you to put in the supplement. In particular you want to stress how disadvantaged you were at your school and how limited were the opportunities presented to you, while at the same time claiming you took full advantage of everthing that was offered.

jiapet, i have the same gpa as you but 2280 SAT score, pretty much the same and i got requested for supplemental. basically means we’re borderline. in my opinion i think getting one is a better sign than getting nothing.

On the other hand, if your stats are very close to the highest possible in your range and you don’t receive a Supplemental Information Request, then you most likely have already been accepted.

D: darn
guess college apps aren’t done yet =
also Mikemac, I thought the Alumni scholarships are sent from a differnt place than the admissions office and doesn’t have much to do with admissions? annndd, do you mean interview for scholarship or an invitation to apply for a scholarship? because don’t you have to apply in order to get an interview opportunity?

. .

I recied the questionaire also. My stats are very low so i was very confused when i first recieved it. Maybe it is because i have a unique story. Does anyone know if you have a better chance of admittance?

People are selected to apply for the regent’s scholarship based on grades/stats. According to the website, the people that select the invitees are in the financial aid office. There are people that apply to the regent’s scholarship and are not accepted. The supplemental forms, on the other hand, indicate indecision. Usually, something is holding them back (it may be low test scores or low GPA) so the supplements are meant to persuade the admission committee in spite of an application defect.
Best of luck ! :)

GUYS DO THIS!!! ITS WHAT GOT ME IN HERE!!! I got the supplemental questionnaire from cal and ucla with lower than average gpa. i had a unique story and got the questionnaire, worked really hard on it, and was accepted into ucla and berkeley. YOU GUYS ARE REALLY LUCKY IF YOU GET THIS.

I didn’t get one from UCLA, but I got one from Berkeley

I am pretty borderline

UC GPA - 3.75 (with special circumstances)
SAT - 1560/2290

Good EC’s

Did UCLA reject me already?

I got a supplement from both UCLA and Berkeley.

I hope I get in but my senior grades were a slump :(

I got:

AP Physics B: C
AP English Lit: C
AP Calculus BC: B
Government: B

I have a 4.0 UC GPA and 1860 SAT (600M 600CR 660W)

I’m freaked out of my mind!!! O;

How many other classes are u taking? cuz if you get in , you need at least a 3.0 unweighted for both semesters of your senior year.

Well, I’m taking 5 classes with an elective where I got an A.

I already submitted both of the supplements and included an extremely valid reason why my grades fell. I promised to greatly improve my performance by the end of the Spring semester and I have a 4.0 UW so far for the semester. sigh…I hear that they have leniency towards you if you had some huge circumstance.

received the supp… and got accepted! :)
