UCLA Supplemental Information

i got this yesterday

"Dear ******,

Thank you for applying to UCLA. As part of our review process, we would like to give you the opportunity to provide additional information about yourself. This is an optional supplemental component to our review process that may assist our readers in evaluating your application. For more information and to complete this supplemental questionnaire, please visit www.admissions.ucla.edu/supplemental. If you choose to submit supplemental information, please do so within 10 days.

Note that we are still in the process of reviewing applications. Decisions will be available on our Web site at the end of March.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

has anyone else gotten this? &are they doing this with everyone?

My friend got it also. However his stats were suspect (3.67 UC gpa and a 2050) but he goes to Arcadia High school which is a big feeder to all the UC's and is known to be very difficult so i think they condoned his GPA and hes on borderline to admission so they want to see more about him. I think its for those who are borderline and they need extra info because their new holistic approach has caused them to have too many "middle" borderline kids

i got that too!! now i'm not sure if i should write it like a personal statement or just answer it..

can u guys post ur stats?

ah my stats are really low ... but i'm applying for EOP. so this means theyve reviewed at our application already right?

thast very odd then...why are applicants with low stats getting these types of letters?

yea i find it weird..my stats are pretty low too

yeah...like i thought id be getting that letter cuz i think im borderline line 3.8 u mich, 2140, microsoft internship...but its wierd

So if we didn't get this can we sort of assume that we're either accepted or rejected (not "borderline?")

i have no idea. i looked at the psots of those who did get the letter and my friend and it was fairly low gpas and sats (all under 3.7 uc gpas) but my freind hasd a 2050. I dunno its really confusing me. I really thought I was borderline and should have gotten a letter...Im fairly sure this is a direct relation to UCLA imposing a new holistic admission..i just dunno why they are getting it and others arent..

I believe that is the case .. from what I heard a while ago.

^ Thanks... Kind of sucks for me though, I thought I'd be borderline so I guess I'm rejected...

cross your fingers

hmm if thats the case a 3.67 uc gpa nad a 2050 is..borderline ? then i feel really good about my chacnes hahah

UCLA: Borderline

ok, so that means if we didn't get a supplemental form we're basically rejected....omg....my hopes and dreams are now ashes.

Don't
freak
out.

i'm trying not to. but i can't help it, honestly. :) :(

i just need some kind or reassurance.. ahh!! i'm becoming like my paranoid friend who applied to YALE! ahh!
