UCLA thread for those still pending

I'm not so sure about that Malishka31, for example from Harvard law's website: http://www.law.harvard.edu/admissions/jd/colleges.php

Undergraduate Institution # HLS JD Students
University of California - Berkeley 43
University of California - Los Angeles 41

It's so close I would say it doesn't matter one way or another. The key is to do whatever you can to get the higher LSAT and GPA. :)

I actually got into UCLA for Fall 2006. Wow. WOW.

I wish I had known that before Berkeley; I might've seriously given that some thought. Oh well -- spring Cal here I come!

uhm... isnt this thread for pending people? like me?

I was pending, IWANNATRANSFER. Now I am not. I was just updating.

Good luck to those still waiting!

could just be hearsay but I understand Berkeley has heavier grade deflation than UCLA. so in actuality, one might have a better chance at getting in a Havard or Yale law school going to UCLA....

just created my pin!! I am already in, right??

people who go to Law schools from UCB have their grades "adjusted" considering the fact that to get an "A" in UCB is bit harder than in UCLA

so people with 4.0 gpa at ucla may have their grades adjusted lower considering that it is a bit easier to get an "A" at ucla than at cal?

The point is that someone with 3.7 from UCB may get in while a 3.9ish student from UCLA get rejected

zheng were you able to create a pin yesterday?

No. Between UCLA and Cal the difference is so minimal there is not going to be any noticable "adjustment". I guess there could be an adjustment for some schools, but it would have to be a huge difference. (like a cal state and Cal). I am not sure what haybaxt is talking about. Talk to just about anyone in the law forums and they will tell you your undergrad does not matter unless its a huge leap. A lot of people go to "easier" undergrads because if they can get a higher GPA.. that will matter a lot more.

The LSAT matters the most in law school admissions anyway.

Just found out I got rejected from UCLA, argh I'm really disappointed. I might try to appeal but it looks as if I'm off to UCSD then. =(

Wow I was finally accepted this morning. Sorry to hear about that nat, you should appeal with a 3.9.

still pending... probably going to get a rejection soon.

Rejected from LA.

Natalie06, did you apply to any other UC's? Just curious...I'm having a hard time deciding between UCR, UCSB, UCD.

How'd that happen? 3.9gpa and from both Cal and UCLA? Perhaps, you should appeal.
