i dont understand why math/econ would pend since its not a competative major at all.

i mean last year only about 60 or 40 people applied.

I'm still pending, too.

English
3.72 GPA @ CC
Will be IGETC certified at the end of this semester

No, I don't know of any other comm rejections..my friend is the only comm major I know aside from this message board.

In any case, I would not worry about your 3.9 because then I should be really worried about my 3.79. ;) Overall, I think it is good that us high gpaers haven't heard anything yet since no comm majors have been accepted so far.

maybe we are all just special.

like we wil get more financial aid money or something so we have to wait longer.

I am poor, is everyone else poor?

According to my first FAFSA, we were 85k. My updated FAFSA made it 65k. So... take that as you will.

I wonder if it has anything to do with that? Or maybe my special circumstances are just so special. :P Or maybe this is a "wait list" and they're seeing what the interest for English majors is...

No, because I will be on any sort of financial aid and I'm still pending too.

omg, my EFC was 7 dollars and i was shocked by that. i always expect 0

yeah i am extremely poor, efc is not EVEN 7.....but the big 0.

well.. ia m jelous.
lol

i can afford 7 dollars toward my education.

but UCSB gave me so much more cash than UCSD.... i was wondering if UCLA would give more than either.

jtsf, do you have any pre-reqs pending? are you taking any pre-reqs this spring semester?

I think we'll hear by Friday.. I'm still pending.

Physiological Science major, 4.0, lots of ECs.

pending, 3.95 Biz Econ (Math and Eng sequence completed after this semester) few EC's, but good work experience

since everyone doesnt have all pre-reqs completed as I thought, we should be in good shape... they seem to have cut everyone that has less than a 3.6... 3.65 on up should have a very good chance of getting in I think. remember average admitted into biz/econ has a 3.78. avg applicant has a 3.4... just remember that.

moss, do you think the fact that I'm taking Calc and English now could have a big negative impact?

it depends, if you view it from the adcom's prospective, they would be giving you the benefit of the doubt if you were to get accepted.

if you got an A in first semester english and calc, you should be in good shape...

but your high gpa = domination :)

i don't think many biz/econ's have been accepted, VERY few so far.

biz/econ is so damn competitive that it'll take ucla longer to sort us out.

we can expect around 230-250 acceptances for biz/econ.

jeez, why'd I pick that crazy major :) Plus why did I not finish English and Calc earlier, I'm getting straight A's in those classes this semester so far...maybe I could use them for a potential appeal

any stat or gpa about those admitted biz/econ people?

yeah this f'in sucks. i mean we're all pretty damn qualified for UCLA, its just the major thats SO hard to get into. STUPID BIZ/ECON DIE!!!

among my friends and people I know in the college, no single one got rejected by UCLA yet! Pretty unbelivable!
