(UCLA) To be honest...

I don't want to be negative, but I don't think FA is reliable this time around. Everyone I know can see their financial aid summary, including my friend that applied for arch (5% acceptance rate) even though she wasn't even invited to the art dept. open house. In fact, she even made the mistake of marking quarter units instead of semester (which she is taking) on her application. I've been really excited about this 'theory', but now it doesn't look too promising. Oh well, guess we will know soon enough.

if she wasn’t at the open house and can still see it then I’m scared

does seem like a lot of people can see it though.

negative nancy

^^^ bitter barry.

Ya. I applied for arch and didn’t get invited to the open house. That makes me feel a little better. Although I can’t see my financial aid so… who knows.

debbie downer.

your friend either had a great gpa or is lying

So you think that after years of not uploading financial aid summaries for transfers unless they were accepted, UCLA is going to be like, “hey why don’t we just upload them for everyone including the ones we’re gonna reject this year?”

depressing david

what jetforce said, + shut up.
we’ll find out soon enough.

her GPA is right around the average admitted last year, and no, I saw her FA. The major thing is that she made a mistake on her application when she put quarter units because then it looked like she was severely low on units. She got rejected by schools already and had to send in her appeals/corrections that she meant to put semester. She hasn’t done this for UCLA yet, yet she sees her FA.

pessimistic peggy

“we’ll find out soon enough.”
yet we’re on here everyday.

^^^ maybe UCLA fell for it…

joykill jerry.

montero, do you goto a CCC in LA? If so, the admission officers would definately known that she made a mistake because they’re aware of the system that the local community colleges use. I’m pretty sure an admissions officer would notice if you put quarter units for SMC considering the number of applicants they get from SMC.

motero, we’ve been on here every day analyzing the potential legitimacy of this ‘theory’… we’ve established that, so far as we KNOW, it hasn’t failed. <~~~ comforting.

to vocalize your speculation in a thread all on its own… a thread that will inevitably spawn a bunch of defensive jargon that’s already been said twice over this late in the game just seems like a dicck move.

isn’t admissions in that case done in two ways through the school and through the department. I know for freshmen admissions they do or at least did when I applied for the school of art. and maybe ur friend was admitted to ucla the school but since for transfer admissions it only takes into consideration 1st major listed, the department will have the deciding decision which is done separate from the school admissions?

preposterous peter!

Then EVERYONE should be able to see their financial aid summary. But that’s not the case. I mean . . . it doesn’t make sense for UCLA to just put up random financial aid summaries in no way contingent on acceptance. Basically, you’re saying that some people who can see their summaries won’t get in and some that can’t will, in which case UCLA is just as crazy and mixed up as we all are.

Also, Outrageous Omar. That’s right, I said it.
