Hi all,

New to the forums as a poster but familiar as a browser. Typically avoid the "chance me" thing but I'm curious to hear opinions from those who are "in the know," whether it be from published statistics or former acceptances/rejections, etc. Insight is appreciated.

Chance me:

UCLA bizecon major hoping to transfer to Columbia or Yale Econ as a junior-level transfer.

3.95 GPA after 3 quarters
2180 SAT
Solid rec letters from dean + two profs.
ECs as of yet are relatively soft, will attempt to improve.
Assuming I write very good essays, what are my chances looking like?
Thanks.

Decent chance. Transferring is very hard though, and I wouldn’t be at all surprised if you get rejected by every Ivy.

As for Columbia and Yale, I am quite confident that those wont happen. You’re looking at brown, upenn, cornell realistically.

Brown accepted 5% of its transfer applicants last year vs. 9% for incoming freshman, so the odds are not good. You should be able to find a pdf for each school - search for the Common Data Set and look at Section D.

Hello, I am an international student currently attending a community college. (Arrived in America for the first time last year).
I am loving the educational environments and opportunities provided! Feeling very blessed!
Back to the point, I am well aware that the chance for transfer admission to Yale Econ is extremely limited, but I was wondering if I stood a chance…
So, here is my stat:

GPA: This is the drawback, I did really bad on my first semester: 3.85
