what's the cheapest way for me to go to UCI then back to UCLA? any buses?

walking would be the cheapest

:P

i actually started a thread about this a few months ago. search it for more detailed info. basically, you can try vanpool or the bus/metro/train. i did bus to union station, train to santa ana, ad then bus straight to UCI campus. not sure exactly which lines though. good luck!

wow. I looked at metro.net for a route and they didn't have it. Vanpool takes you from UCLA to culver/405. The bad thing about vanpool is that they leave during rush hour so you're kinda stuck there. Let me know what happens cuz I'm interested in this too.

I go from UCLA to UCSD, so I've got the first few steps covered at least.

IMO, I think it's best to walk down to Westwood and Wilshire, and take the Rapid Bus heading east (either the 720 or 920). These buses have fewer stops and come buy pretty often so you don't have to wait that long. Get off at Western and Wilshire, and cross the street and head underground to the subway. From the subway you can take the Red Line to Union Station. At Union station you basically purchase a ticket from Amtrak either stopping at Santa Ana or Irvine...

Oh yeah, socaltransport.org is a good website for planning your bus routes to get around to union station...

Hi! My friend from UCI is coming to visit me on Sunday, so I was wondering where he could park? I live in summit so parking 11 is closest, but are they able to park there? If not, where could he park? Thanks!

^ Yeah, my friend who goes to school in Irvine visited me last weekend and he was able to park in lot 11... he had to pay $8 but I swiped him in for dinner so it sort of evened out

Oh ok.. cool thanks! So they would just go into the parking and get the ticket from the machine?

Yep I think that's what he did
