UCLA to Union Station

What is the best way to get to Union Station to take the Metrolink, on a early Friday afternoon? Thanks.

Best depends on what you’re looking for. I assume you mean best via public transportation vs. best driving route. Uber may be best if you’re looking for fastest, but it might cost between $20 to $25. Best as in cheapest would be to take the Metro #2 bus from UCLA campus East all the way up Sunset to the Sunset/Vermont subway station where you can catch the red line subway to Union Station. It’ll cost $1.75 each ride, so $3.50.

Hope that helps.

Thank you! I found it hard to predict how long it will get to Union Station to catch the metrolink. Will give it a try.

I’ve taken the 720 (there’s a stop on Wilshire/Westwood) to Wilshire/Western, then hop on the purple line which goes to Union Station. Takes about an hour total. Early Friday afternoon before 2pm is smooth, lots of traffic afterwards can cause delays
