I didn't even realize that they wanted your partial transcripts by tomorrow, will they rescind my acceptance if I don't get it in by tomorrow, but later on this week? I'm really freaking out right now. Anyone know??

I suggest you go to your school order a hand carry transcript and drive to UCLA and deliver it yourself. well, of course only do this if you live in a good driving distance.

Only sometimes schools dont consider hand carried transcripts official.

They will put a hold on your record, and contact you. I was freaking out about the same thing, but luckily my final transcript arrived two days ago.

Same here. I totally forget about the transcript deadline till now. Damn! who the **** would actually ask people to send the partial transcript in dat early date? Now, I am so screwed. It takes at least 3 days to process my request in my CC even in a rush service. Omg! i don’t know wt to do.

I hand delivered my transcript on Thursday. Has anyone had their transcript show on myucla? How long does it take to get up there?

it took about a week for mine to show up on myucla. all of they say received except for the school i am attending now; it says that it is pending and they have received my preliminary and are just waiting for the final ones.

and they ask for two sets because they want to make sure everything on your application matches up with your actual transcripts and some people aren’t out of school or wont have their grades until after the june 1st deadline so they have a 2nd deadline.

im screwed too. it’s going to take me at least 1 week for them to recieve my transcripts… what does this “hold” do? and what are the consequences?

you probably just cant sign up for classes/orientation until they receive everything they need. thats what im assuming anyways

u guys will be fine! haha, stop fretting. they are just transcripts, get them in as soon as you can.

They’re not going to rescind your admission because you didn’t get your transcripts in on time. They’re not Nazis. The main reason they want your transcripts through Fall '09 is to come up with a degree progress report for you that they’ll give you at orientation (and to make sure you’re not a filthy liar). No need to freak out. Rescinding you for tardiness would be evil, and UCLA is not evil.

"UCLA is not evil. "

debatable…lol

I called the Undergraduate Admissions and the lady told me as long as the transcripts are postmarked before June 1, I should be fine. I sent one of the transcripts this week and I asked what happens if it does not show up on MyUCLA on Monday and she said it takes 2 weeks for them to get it into the system and repeated that it should be fine if it is postmarked.

I’m sure if people on here forgot - or just didn’t know about the deadline, there are plenty more out there that also forgot to send them off. They are not going to rescind that many admissions. Get them out as soon as possible and email them to let them know the situation, you should be okay.

Would it be fine if its postmarked on June 1st or would they totally rescind my admittance?

How come on MyUCLA it says preliminary transcripts have arrived, but they are waiting for final transcripts? Is it possible they think I took ALL my classes at one CC? I took my final class at a different CC this semester.

fudge. i totally forgot about this. anyways how do you find out if they received the preliminary transcript? i know it’s through myucla, but exactly where? thanks!

Your preliminary transcript covers your grades through Fall. Your final transcript covers your grades through spring.
If your spring term is over already and grades have been released, just make sure they have all your transcripts they’ll update it at some point. Final transcripts aren’t due until July 15, so they may take their sweet time updating things on MyUCLA.

wafflesmasher, it should be on MyUCLA as soon as you log in. towards the bottom of the page.

when i sign into MyUCLA i have to click the admissions button at the top to see my transcripts, that theyve recieved my SIR and all of that information. when i first login it is a sample of a class schedule, so if you can’t see it that may be why as well.

In order for counselors to effectively assist you in course enrollment, it will be necesary to know how your transfer units apply at UCLA. A Degree Progress Report (DPR) provides you with an evaluation of your transfer credit and information about how the courses you completed at other institutions meet requirements at UCLA. It also indicates if you have satisfied the Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC) or have met the UCLA General Education requirements.

The information provided on the DPR is critical for you to have when selecting classes for Fall Quarter 2009.

In order to obtain this evaluation, you must submit official transcripts of all college work taken. To obtain a preliminary DPR, you must provide Undergraduate Admissions with the following:

Official transcripts of all work completed through the Fall 2008 term by June 1, 2009
IMPORTANT: Sending in your completed Fall 2008 transcripts before June 1st will allow your transfer work to be evaluated before your Orientation session. This is very important for appropriate counseling and enrollment. Do NOT wait until you have completed your Spring 2009 term to mail in your transcripts.
Once you have completed your Spring and/or Summer 2009 terms, mail in a second set of final, official transcripts by July 15, 2009.

A completed Coursework Statement indicating coursework in progress for Winter, Spring, and/or Summer terms
You cannot be assured of receiving a DPR if you change the date of your Orientation session less than two weeks prior to the session.

It isn’t that big of a deal! Just bring your transcripts with you if they aren’t able to get a DPR ready for you in time, whether it’s due to late submission or no submission at all. Not sending in your final transcripts by July 15th is something you should worry about, however, turning it in before June 1st gives them time to evaluate your courses to better assist you at orientation. If you submitted your transcripts late then pick a later orientation date so that your DPR will be completed by then and keep in mind **(Bruin Card) Your application and photo must be received no later than 5 weeks prior to your orientation session in order to ensure timely processing, and must meet the predetermined criteria. So if you can’t get everything on time then just pick a later orientation date and hope that they have everything setup for you then, if not then just bring your transcripts with you on an earlier session date. Remember picking a later orientation date also means less selection of classes that will available to you as those that attend earlier sessions will have their first picks at courses that are open.
