UCLA Transfer Appeals 2019

I feel like they might release another wave of rejected appeals soon…

This is just a guess but maybe they’re taking a while because of the date we submitted? What date did y’all send yours?

@VeeJoePerra I sent mine on the deadline exactly at around 3pm. However, when I sent mine last year on the deadline, I got my response right on on June 15th.

@pbbunny97 did you find out why you were denied the other years? What are your stats and major? Did you have any special circumstances? This is now my 4th rejection from UCLA (2 initial apps + 2 appeals) despite a 3.92 overall GPA, 4.0 CCC GPA, what I thought was above-average talent (I speak 5 languages and am currently learning 2 more- I’m a linguistics major, so I thought they’d consider this relevant??), and a full hand of hardships (disabled, single parent, low income, first-gen college student, older student (29) + a few more but when I go further it sounds like a sob story lmao), and all prereqs/major prep done, incl recommended courses. I was also rejected by UCSD and UCR last year. I can’t figure out where to go from here, because everyone I talk to, incl my advisors, is just as baffled as me.

Anyone heard anything at all today? Or this week?

@HarleyTheQuinn still nothing :confused:

Welp, we’re in the middle of July now. Still haven’t heard anything…

This sucks. I feel bad that we’re getting impatient, but if they said they were doing it on a rolling basis, wouldn’t someone on here had at least heard back last week?

haven’t heard anything

Hey guys, so I called them again yesterday. It was a different person on the phone, and he said that they’re planning to release decisions near the end of July. That contradicts with what the last person said a few weeks ago about decisions being released on a rolling basis. Idk what’s accurate anymore

@HarleyTheQuinn Omg what if they already made final decisions and they’re just gonna reject the rest of us? If that’s the case, then they shouldn’t wait this long to do so. Or maybe they’re accepting a few more and rejecting everyone else, that’s it. I want to know how many of us in total appeals because that could be a factor. Idk anymore either

i just received an update this afternoon. my decision was appealed! my major was mechanical engineering.

@CasuallyFloating OMG That’s awesome!! Congratulations! What day did you submit your appeal btw if it’s ok to ask?

@HarleyTheQuinn Thank you so much! I submitted mine on May 1, 8:30 PM PST.

congrats - i’m still waiting too :expressionless: .

@CasuallyFloating congrats oh my goodness! must be an amazing feeling! When I spoke to them on the phone a couple days ago, they said a rolling basis because the appeals committee and the waitlist section are working at the same time. So I’m guessing it all depends on the amount of space as well. I’m still waiting on mine too, any updates for anyone?

@pbbunny97 Still waiting on mine. And yeah, that’s most likely true! Waitlisted peeps haven’t heard back either. Perhaps the committee is waiting on available seats since there’s a chance some students are being rescinded after transcripts were sent out and reviewed.

Hey y’all. I just checked my portal just now. Appeal rejected  I’m not surprised but still a bit sad. I was gonna go to CSUN but I got off the waitlist for UC San Diego so I’m going there instead. I’m just gonna do UCLA for grad school then

I wish you guys luck to wherever you go and congratulations to those who got in! It’s been fun being on this site.

@HarleyTheQuinn I’m so sorry to hear that! What was your major? I just checked mine and it’s still being under review :/. Congrats on getting off the waitlist for UC San Diego, it’s beautiful there! Good luck with everything!

Anyone else here still waiting?
