Right now im trying to decide whether i should put business economics as my major, and economics as my alternate major. Would this be a bad decision or not?

If I were you, I would do biz econ and math-econ as alternate. If I remember recall correctly biz econ had 3.93? avg gpa while math-econ had 3.7? I would check the site again to make sure.

either im gunna do biz econ with econ as alt, or biz econ with psychology alt. Do you kknow the avg gpa for just econ?

Avg gpa for just econ is 3.94 so there’s no point in putting that as your alt major. Because if you get rejected from biz econ, it’s more than likely you’ll also get rejected from just econ. Psychology alt is something I also would advise against because it’s an impacted major but the avg gpa for that is 3.77 (so there is a chance you might get in as psych if u get rejected as biz econ). So it’s up to you.

Do you have TAP? If you don’t have TAP, chances are you won’t be considered for your alternate major
Though they ask for alternate major on the application, some UC counselors have told me that UCLA and UCSD rarely look at that… except TAP

Oh, and listen to xViral. Don’t put psych even you have TAP lol. That major is super impacted in UCLA’s L&S. Do Math Econ if you don’t mind learning more math. I’ve seen quite a few people on this board getting into that major with 3.3-3.4 GPA, even though avg gpa admitted is 3.71 :)

o wow, thank you sparkyboy and xviral, u guys sure gave me some wonderful insight!

No prob. If you can eat sharks, then you can get into Biz Econ lol. Gl

They will not look at your alternate major unless you are TAP certified. If you are TAP certified, only majors from L&S will be considered excluding the impacted majors, like psych, which they only accept as a 1st major choice.
