Hey everyone, I want to apply to UCLA as an econ major. I have a 3.93 GPA so far and will be applying upcoming Fall with completed IGETC. I will finish most pre reqs, however I will only finish Math 1b (two quarters of Calculus) by Spring quarter. I am kind of confused on whether to either stay another year to finish the calc series or just transfer out wherever I get into? Any opinions would really help, thanks!!

Prereqs are very important. Missing one class really jeopardize your chance of getting into a top school like UCLA. Talk to your counselor to figure out an alternative way of getting that Cal class done in time.

Do what you can to finish your math requirements by Fall. UCLA is very strict about finishing up those prereqs by then. Best of luck.

I thought I already answered your question in another thread? Anyways, I got back from orientation a couple days ago and UCLA requires only Math 1A and 1B for Econ and Business Econ majors.

So yes, if you finish Math 1B by spring, you’re good in regards to UCLA’s requirements.

UCLA’s requirements for Econ:

Let me know if you have anymore questions! :)
