UCLA transfer student: applied mathematics question.

Hello,

I am transferring from community college, and I have done all the math classes, computer classes, 2 physics classes with a 4.0 GPA. However, I will be missing one class which is a basic general chemistry 101, and they require it some reason for this major. Because of that I am assuming I will get denied. Is there anyway I can appeal that, and tell them I have a 4.0 with all other classes, then take chemistry 101 during the summer at CC; is there any chances of them accepting that appeal?

Thank you,

Cougar

When you say “missing,” do you mean that you have the class in progress for Spring 2018, or that you will not have that class completed at all? If the latter, then yes that will negatively affect your chances of admission if the class is required for your major. As far as appealing to take Chem 101 in the summer, it is highly unlikely that UCLA would allow you to do that, since that would be both unfair to other applicants and it’s specifically stated that all major prereq classes must be completed by the Spring prior to transfer. But decisions havent come out yet, just wait and who knows maybe you might get accepted.

? Then what is the point of appealing an admissions decision? LOL. Seems counterintuitive to me.

That’s not a reason to appeal.

Then what is a reason to appeal? LMAO.

UCLA states it is only right to appeal if you have financial issues and have to live in LA, that is stupid.

MODERATOR’S NOTE:
Closing thread. It’s moot until admissions decisions and OP knows the appeal policy.
