UCLA transfer summer school

I got into UCLA for fall 2010 and when I applied I told them that im going to take summer class(in the application). I am from cal poly pomona and after spring quarter i have 88 quarter units. (required minimum 90 units to transfer). Do i HAVE to take summer classes?

you have to take all the classes that you reported on your application. you were admitted based on what you reported and need to adhere to that schedule exactly. if there are any changes you have to report the changes.

You don’t really have to.

Before I left the country I called Admissions because I was planning on taking a 6-week class and they told me not to worry about it, they don’t really depend on that summer class to make the admission decision, if that made sense. Some people get denied admission because they say they will take the class during summer but because they know this type of thing happens (i.e.- unexpected vacation, other plans, etc) so they don’t focus on it during the admission process. That’s what the woman told me anyways.

Lee I can see that but with OP’s situation they do not have 90 quarter units… I know we have to have 90 quarter units (60 semester) to transfer…

@shawnee Yeah I just read that over, I was tired, hahaha.

So yes you would have to.

so you guys think i should take it??
man, too much trouble for me . lol but i shouldnt take that risk…

yes for sure you should take it, but don’t take my word for it, research anywhere on the Ucla website & you will read that you need 90 quarter units for the minimum eligibility. they do NOT accept lower division transfers unless of course you are a super star athlete but I imagine that is NOT the case.

Jesus you are going from CAl Poly Pomona to Ucla you are so lucky! don’t even think about risking it!

I’m actually really surprised that you weren’t automatically rejected for not meeting the unit requirement, especially coming from another 4 year. Don’t risk it.

yeah, haha im kinda surprise too… lol
how about the classes? I dont think i can take the class that i listed on the application which is one of my major class (but not pre-req… i think…) because of the school’s low budget. Instead, im taking general psychology or anthropology which is one of the GE requirement… is that fine?

anyone know???
