UCLA Transfer Tips

this is for all the UCLA students (transfer or not) who would like to share some of their experiences in UCLA...tips and tricks of navigating around UCLA and about life in general there...

bump

I'd like to know, too. Thanks!

is it possible to transfer in one year if i have 32 units from AP credit already?

lol no, you need 60 units of acquired units from doing college work @ a college, not high school ap stuff!

i called and they said they will accept AP credit.. still not so sure.. do they have a limit for how many classes students can take or does it depend on which JC? also, what if i also take classes in the summer?

One word (fine, an acronym) will make all of your wildest dreams come true - TAP

I got in without TAP. :P
You should still do it though. I won't hurt!

ooohnelle,

Yes, you can transfer in a year since your 32 AP units will count as college credit. That still goes, right? Maybe mojojojo69 is right. I know some '06 Fall transfers who said they have done that.

Weird question -- I know it is much easier tranferring into UCLA if you go to a community college for 2 years rather than a Cal. state, but what about transferring from one UC to UCLA as a sophmore or junior? Meaning, harder to get into than coming from a CC or harder than coming from a Cal State?

Beatchick- in between. not as easy as cc but not as difficult as cal state-->uc.

as for the other suggestions, shall get back to you all later.

What limit do you mean? How many units you can earn at a CC that will transfer to ucla? Or how many classes you can take at ucla after transferring?
