UCLA transfer to Hass

I am a coming freshman for UCLA. I have visited the sku before, and I love the environment so much. You are in LA..and what can you ask for!

However, i was a lil bit put off by the fact that UCLA does not offer any business program for udnergrads.

so I am thinking of studying two years and then transfer to Hass business school. But I am wondering how hard is that? would you recommend me to study bizecon in UCLA first? What courses can I gain a competitive edge if i want to apply to Hass?

Transferring to Haas from UCLA will be messy and difficult. I recommend choosing a different university with a business program. I’m not even sure you can fulfill the Haas prereqs at UCLA. Definitely look into it. Business Econ is nothing like Business.

Yes, Haas has very specific prerequisites…which may be better served in a community college.

Do note that I am not recommending community college. I am currently attending a community college in a gap year for my master’s and the condition of California community colleges is horrible. The budgets cuts have had a significant impact on the colleges and many students are taking 4 years to transfer. You DON’T want to go to community college.

What I would recommend is choosing from your options. If there is a college you have been accepted to that also fulfills the Haas prereqs, I would be inclined to choose that with the hopes of transferring. Make sure you are happy with your choice because Haas is a complete crapshoot, anyways. Don’t invest too much effort for a Haas transfer because there is a big chance it may not happen.

The CSUs offer great business programs.

i got into USC as well, but again the problem is that i did not get into Marshall, meaning i may need to transfer skus
but i would totally prefer UCLA over USC tho…

I’ve been told that it’s hard to transfer from one UC to another so it’s probably not a great plan…However, if you’re willing to go in this different direction, UCLA does have a pretty good Business Econ major
