has anyone managed to transfer to UCLA after 1 year of CC coursework. If i work hard and earn enough credits, will they consider me for a junior year transfer?

Go to the UC transfer board and you'll find all of your answers there. But to answer this right here, yes, they will as long as you have at least 60 semester units/90 quarter units prior to transfer.

60 semester units will put you as a junior standing regardless of how many years you stayed at a CC.

Yes, I knew a friend who was rejected by UCLA when he was in high school. Then, he took summer classes and constantly about 25-30 units each quarter in school year. He got into Biz Econ 2 years ago.
