UCLA transfer----Withdraw on final semester

UCLA Transfer—

Is anyone having problems with their last semester in community college? I am Santa Monica College student, got admission from UCLA with Linguistics major.
I am currently taking Geology 4 w/ lab, and Sociology 4. Geol is going well but this Socio class is killing me. Although this class has nothing to do with my major and IGETC, I am going to get a D or so.
Anyone dropped a class like this one and still continued their admission? Please share with me if you have experience like this! The drop deadline is 05.15.16 and I am just so worried that if I have to drop this and leave W, or just get a D and report them.

I applied as a business or econ/acct major to every school except UCLA and Berkeley. I applied as a spanish major at those two. When I got into UCLA, i didnt need my acct class or business management classes that I was currently taking. I sent them an email asking if I could drop them because they are a waste of time and I already have 130 units and igetc completed. I called the next day and explained my situation and the guy said its a very low chance I get rescinded, so I dropped both classes and went to the portal and reported the change. They just got back to me today and my acceptance stands. Took like two weeks.

Make sure you have enough Units and IGETC completed, and that they aren’t major course work done before dropping, I would call ahead, but I think they will rescind you for a D. So if you dont think you can get at least a C then I would drop and report it in the portal. Good luck, maybe I’ll see you around campus.

@Rey22David Thanks for sharing. I see a number of people here saying that dropping a course that is not related to both IGETC and major may not harm the admission. I still have 60 units + 5 more from another institution. Two different transcripts were already received by UCLA so I might drop this and explain them in full detail. Thanks again!
