When did you find out that financial aid covered your TSP? I haven’t gotten an email or anything about whether or not I’m getting any assistance for the summer. I should be though… my freakin’ EFC is ZERO! Ugh, frustrating.

@UC I got this little notice below the confirmation of TSP that my financial aid has covered the program and it will show up on my BAR account sometime in August.

I guess that would be pretty useful so we won’t have to move out all of our stuff back home and then back onto campus again…thanks for the information! I’ll keep that in mind if I decide to attend TSP!

UCCasualty- are you in TSP? If your EFC is below like $2500, you basically get a full ride for the whole program! It’s sweet!

I think he’s just in the summer session?

@evan

No, I’m taking regular classes (8 units). I spoke to someone from fin. aid at Scholars Day and she told me that during THAT week they were reviewing summer aid applications and that they would begin releasing awards the following week up until a week before summer courses begin. I know I could be spazzing out over nothing because it’s still two weeks before the 21st, but I don’t know if there is a deadline for summer housing. I mean, don’t people usually move in like a week before classes start? And if I get my aid barely a week before classes start it seems like I’ll be trying to hop on to a train that’s already leaving the station. …so irritating.

Oh yeah, I’m pretty sure only Reiber Hall, Sproul Hall, and Uni. Apartments are open for the summer. I’m planning on staying in Reiber Hall, but when I sign up it says that there is NO stay through option. Kind of weird because you obviously found something that says otherwise. And btw, Reiber Hall triples are TINY!

Well I’m not sure who posted it on here but someone who called from UCLA’s AAP/TSP told this person that the TSP kids were going to be staying in Rieber Hall.

I think it was Yunie(?)

That’s bizarre. Perhaps they don’t want the masses getting in on this stay through deal!

Edit: That’d be an easy move… Rieber Hall to Rieber Vista… and from a triple to a double! Nice transition!

It’s probably a TSP perk. =/

What the hell!? So I’m just supposed to camp out in front of Reiber Terrace until they let me move in? Riiiiight…

You can camp out on my roommates vacant side until he moves in. ha ha ha.

Does anyone know what the UCLA gym situation is? My friend told me that if you want to get a good workout in you have to go at like 6 in the morning before it gets ultra crowded. Idk if this is true, just curious if anyone has any info or experience there. Also, how many gyms are there on campus?

^ There are quite a few, but it really depends on what you’re looking for. I’d say Wooden is pretty well rounded. I’ve been there before, it’s really nice - they have everything and anything. It’s at the center of the campus, too. It does get really crowded after around 4 or 5 though, so it’s better to go early in the day.

I really want to check out the Challenge Course!

^ Thanks for the info! I’ll def. be going early every weekday, though I’m not sure to which one yet. I’ll check Wooden out for sure. Also, I just looked up the Challenge Course and it sounds awesome! I’ll prob. check it out too

i dont think its that crowded on weekends also.

so anyone nervous about starting? Anyone living away from home for the first time?

I’m excited to move there. I’ve been spending so much time down in LA right next to UCLA. I’m looking forward to moving away from where I live now, the desert is not a good place to live.

I’m in Rieber Terrace btw, if that has anything to do with this post =)

hey me too, I got a triple shared. looking for a double though

I’m in a triple shared bath, can’t really complain though. Be a little cramped from what I am use to living in, but I’m still excited for it all. I can’t imagine it being all the different from two roommates vs one.

hey random question. Is it ***y if I bring a 42 inch tv? I like to watch movies and game to relax lol and its gonna be doing nothing in my house so i might as well bring it but I dont wanna be all ostentatious and * know what I mean?

haha It censored me lets say the first word ia slur used against people who pop their collars

Nah, bring that ish and invite me over! LOL
