Intern at the college I'm taking classes at. I deal with programming the college newspaper's website and I have to try to make it look better.

I’d have said you were a shoo in at all of those colleges if it weren’t for your slightly lopsided SAT scores.

It’s not right, and I certainly don’t like it, but people, including admissions officers could take you as just another “Asian achiever” who is really good at math and is the top student of his school.

Regardless, I still think that all those colleges are matches because you fall in their mean range of SAT scores and GPAs. Try taking your SAT’s again and see if you could balance out the scores a bit.

Good luck!

Thanks for the reply! I know what you’re talking about, haha. My SAT score doesn’t match up :stuck_out_tongue: But I do plan on retaking it. Did you take into account that I’m OOS?

Yeah! They’re all still matches more or less, though Berkeley might be a bit tough.

Don’t forget to get a safety too.

Intended major: Computer science

Yeah! I plan on applying to NC State (in state school) as a safety. Also, is UCLA a high match, match, or low match?

Low Match - Berkeley, UCLA

High Match/ Match - UT Austin, U Mich

It’ll be hard to get into Berkeley, UCLA, and UT Austin (not sure about U Mich) because they all prefer students from their state more than OOS students.

Chance Me? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1593664-chance-cornell-rd.html#post16738715</a></p>

Everything looks great man. So here’s what I think

UCB-Match
UCLA-Low Match
UT Austin, U Mich-Match

Assuming you’re aiming for UCB Engineering OOS, Low Dream. Please. Not Match. It’s very competitive. If you’re not, perhaps it could be Match ~ High Match.

Tennis is nice. Music is generic (sorry). Chess is … slightly generic (sorry). SAT is dangerous.

Ahh…try to differentiate yourself from others by your essays then. Or else it’s pretty dangerous right now for you to apply to UMich.

UC got their race admission factor made unlawful I think…so it should be easier than before. Though I still worry that you’re quite lopsided.

Your stats are impressive however. So you got that going for you, which is nice.

Hahaha I’m not going to try to get into the college of engineering at Berkeley because their computer science is mixed with electrical engineering and I’m aiming for just CS which is in the LSA. But for the other schools, I’ll be doing engineering

Id say
Berkeley - Match
UT- Austin - High Match
Michigan - Reach
UCLA- Match

Chance Back Please:
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1593962-chance-me-please-ill-chance-back.html</a></p>

What’s Advanced PE?

well that GPA is definitely off, schools don’t count APs as a 6, and UCs count even less credits as honors. So I would calculate those GPAs to get a better idea of your chances.

What is your intended major?
For UMich LSA, your GPA and SAT are both around average for admission. It should be a high match for you as oos. For CoE, it would be a low reach.

it’s like another PE class, since in sophomore year, everybody has to take 6 AP’s, they decided to give us a PE class to help us take off some stress from all of the classes.
