UCLA UCB civil engineering vs. bioengineering... which is easier to get into.

i am currently a highschool senior about to apply to colleges, UCLA and Berkeley being the top two. i am just wondering if i would have a better chance of getting accepted if i applied to civil engineering. From what i've heard, most pre med students go into bioengineering making it more competitive for admissions. Is this true? I'm interested in both, but i want to apply to the one that i would have the best chance of getting accepted into.
