UCLA/UCB vs UCI

My major is mechanical engineering and I got accepted into UCI for winter 09.

My question is how different is it to do engineering at top UC's like UCB/UCLA compared to low tier UC's like UCI in terms of opportunities after graduation and quality of education. I'm thinking of applying for Fall 09 again if there is such a huge difference.

Are there any engineering majors here who were accepted into UCLA this winter 09?. Just curious.

UCI is the fastest growing Univ. in the U.S.

has more potential than UCSB for sure.

thanks kisspig.. any other opinions??

If you were already accepted to UCI for the winter, I would just go there. UCI is probably the fastest growing of the UCs, and you'll have no problems finding a good job after graduation. UCI might not be a household name like UCLA or UC Berkeley, but it is still a really respectable school with a pretty good engineering program.

If it were me, I'd go to UCI, especially for something like mechanical engineering. I doubt if it would make a huge difference where you go to school.

it matters more on grad school (if you plan to go to grad school), so a really high gpa from uci is better than a mediocre one from Cal
