UCLA/UCI: Business Admin vs. Business Econ?

Hello, I am currently an Asian female senior from the state of Hawaii and I was wondering what the difference(s) is between UCLA and UCI’s Busi-Admin and Busi-Econ majors.

How is Busi-Admin and Busi-Econ similar/different (besides the fact that Busi-Econ is more econ)? Which is better to major in? How is the curriculum of each?

BizEcon is the economics of business. Business Administration is more about business and management theories.

UCLA does not consider major for freshman admission; however, in order to declare BizEcon, there is a rigorous application process and you are by no means guaranteed into the major. UCI does not consider major for freshman admission either; but if you are not competitive for Business Administration, you will be placed into your alternate major or undeclared.

MsSun: When does a student apply for the BizEcon major?

See [UCLA Economics](http://www.econ.ucla.edu/undergraduate/majors/bizecon.cfm) for information.
