I am a CA applicant and I will be applying to some privates as well as some unis in Canada (I have citizenship) but I also wanted to wonder about my chances at some of the local CA schools aka UC’s. I really like UCLA and UCSD in particular.
UC GPA: 3.86 C/W (Horrendous Sophomore year lol) 4.2 Uncapped (I heard Cal and UCLA use this in application??)
Class Rank: 27/390
SAT I: 1570/1600
SAT II: 770 for both Math 2 and Physics
ECs: Basically usual community service stuff, member of local CSF and Interact, and hold office position in two more clubs, one which that I founded chapter for (FBLA); Varsity soccer all four years and varsity track 2 years, some job experience and summer program @ Stanford, Ik my ECs are pretty dull but I have been pretty dedicated and only continued with stuff that I actually liked and enjoyed
UC’s are very GPA focused and if you have a compelling reason for lower than average grades, it will be taken into consideration. Great test scores and average EC’s. It will probably come down to your essay questions so really make them shine.
UCSD: High Match
UCLA: Low Reach-High Match
Make sure you have sid match schools and at least one safety on your list.
I also really like UCSB so based on its selectivity compared to the other UCs on my mind would my general chance of getting in be higher or the same as san diego and la?
