I need help deciding on which would be best for the undergrad major of biochemistry and molecular biology.

In my opinion, I would choose UCSD. UCSD's pre-med are very well-known for its competition and successful students. UCLA's pre-med is also good, but UCSD's pre-med seems to be climbing fast. If you are going into pre-med, be prepared.

However, in reality, it doesn't matter what major you are in to get into medical school. It is known that people go into easier majors to get ensure a high GPA for medical school entrance (of course it is complemented by interns, research, and high MCAT scores). Although it seems unfair, it seems to be the reality. You can get into great medical schools from any of those UCs also. Pick the best place for you as a person.

Doesn't matter. Just get the best GPA. It may be unfair because there are 3942934932949329432949329432 cutt-throat pre-med jackasses at UCSD while there are only a few chill ones elsewhere, but that's the rules. Learn to play the game.
