I am a junior from Indiana. I want to major in something chemistry or engineering related. I’m an Asian female if that means anything.
Schedule this year:
Anatomy and Physiology
AP Psychology/Sociology (both are semester)
AP Calc AB
AP Chemistry
AP Physics C
English 11
Chinese 2
Previous AP classes:
World History (4)
US History (4)
GPA: 3.716 unweighted, 4.223 weighted
Unweighted my GPA was 3.563 freshman year, 3.707 sophomore, and 4.041 junior idk if this will mean anything.
PSAT: CR: 74, M: 76, W: 73, T: 223
SAT(I’ve taken it once and I plan on taking it again): CR: 730, M: 800, W: 690, T: 2220
I haven’t taken the SAT yet but I had to take the PLAN freshman year and got a 28 out of 32.
ECs(I know I don’t have very many at all but I feel like its too late to start something new):
Tennis
Tutoring an elementary student for pay
Purdue Chemical Engineering sounds perfect for you. Bring up your GPA and SAT score a little bit and you may get some merit aid too.
Your unweighted gpa is low for UMich, especially being OOS.
^ I agree, but there is really no standard for GPA. So 3.716 at her school may worth 3.9+ at other school. Otherwise, you are right, the chance is slim with weak GPA.
Your GPA is low for all of those schools.
Everybody is saying your GPA is too low but after a 3.8, GPA doesn’t really matter. Colleges are non-retarded enough to understand that getting a few non-As doesn’t mean anything. If you get it up to there next year, you won’t have a problem GPA wise.
What your actually lacking in is extra curriculars. Work on those.
