UCLA, Univ. Southern Ca., What are my chances?

My name is Nikola and I'm from Serbia and Montenegro (ex Yugoslavia).
In short. My biography:

I have 18 years and I'm the 4. grade in Mathematical high school. This is the best school in our country. GPA 4.7 (5). Rank Top 10%.
I won the bronze medal in Junior Balkan Mathematical Olympiad in Romania 2002.
I have many awards in mathematical and physics competition, in my country, for last 3 years. I'm one of the best.
I didn't work Sat yet, but my calculations are
SAT verbal about 600, math 800, writing ???
SAT subject physics 750-800, math II 750-800.
I play basketball for 8 years. I'm the leader, captain and the best player in my team. I'm also good in waterpolo.
I have volunteer work.
I'll probably study Engineering. I don't have money to pay so I need the scholarship.
What are my chances for Univ. of california Los Angeles and Univ. Of Southern (south) California?
What are you commend me? What universities are good for me? What are my chances for better (Berceley, Stanford,...) or worse (san diego, santa barbara,...) Universities?
What are my amenity or veakness? Is this my bronze medal in Junior Balkan Mathematical Olympiad in Romania 2002 important thing for getting the scholarship? What do you think?
What are my chances?

UCLA - reach (out of state)
USC - match if you can pay

sehovic:

UCLA: Reach (Engineering, out of state)

UCLA: reach, because engineering is really hard to get into

I can't pay. I don't have that money.
But I won't tell them that I want to study engineering. Can I do that?
What are my chances then?
I found this on collegeboard:
Number of enrolled international undergraduates received aid: 206 (ucla)
230(USC)
this is not bad.
What about San Diego or other universities?

Help me.
Respond on my questions?

since you are applying from out of the country try some private schools because they usually give more money, full scholarships are very hard to get but sometimes u can get like 70 or 80 percent of the money paid , try Washington University in St. Louis, or UC-San Diego

University of Southern California is private school.

yes but international students have harder time getting money so apply to many privates

OK. What universities are match (or safety) for me?

I think any of the UC schools would be a long shot because of their need to serve California residents. The private schools will be easier for you - like USC .
Rice in Texas and Cornell in NY might appeal to you. (check their websites) as they have excellent engineering programs. Columbia and Stanford might also be possibilties.

I really want to go in California, especially in LA.
I think that I don't have chances for Stanford because Stanford is very very very good school.
So please tell me what are my chances for this schools (reach, match, safety). Don't remember that I don't have money to pay so I need scholarship. Tell me which of these universities are good in engineering. And how much good they are? Because I'm great student and i want to go in really good school.
Please answer on my questions.

A.S.A.P., I think that you know the answers. Your number of posts are 672. You have experience.

Thank you.

De si zemljache!!!!!!!!

try tufts , and baylor, and rice and forget the uc;s even if they take u they wont give u money

tu sam dimif.

It's funny, because I live in Los Angeles and I'm trying to get away from it for college (and then move back later because I love it so much), and here you are trying to get in. I don't know what schools are best in engineering, but I do know that being an international student can be an advantage. Definitely try for USC, and maybe Occidental, the Claremont Schools, Santa Clara University, and maybe the University of San Diego. The UC's, like people have already said, are harder to get into out-of-state, but most big cities have a private university as well (like L.A. and San Diego), so you could try those. Good luck!

Thank you.

Good universities in engineering:
1. UCLA
2. UCSD
3. USC
4. UCSB

Somebody was angry on me because I wrote something on Serbian, and because of that we will speak only on English!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:))))))
