Ucla v UCB (business/econ oriented)

Hello everyone.. I am a high school senior who has been accepted at UCLA and Berkeley. Im currently trying to decide what's best for me. Here's a bit about me:

I've always lived by the beach and love the sun
I plan on majoring in either business/economics and then getting an MBA
Almost my entire family has been to UCLA so naturally they want me to go there, but I'm prepared to decided for myself
I like to have fun

I'm afraid if I go to ucla I will be missing out on opportunities in the business world because my undergrad would be pre business/ economics. I also want a job out of college to help put myself on the path to an mba likely at either ucla or ucb (whichever I end up going to), so getting a job out of college is important. But if I go to UCB I feel like i'd miss out on having a well rounded experience. If Berkeley wasn't ranked higher in both econ and business (undergrad) this would be an easy decision.

I am visitting ucb next week for a day but the tour wont give me the whole feeling of the college so im coming here. Thanks in advance for the info!

As undergrad institution is important to the employer when employing, your GPA and your degree level is more important. If you find yourself in a school where you are happy, you are more likely to do well and stay motivated to achieve a higher degree.

For me, I would see UCB (for me, if i was choose for ME) because I am a city girl, and I can’t stand hot weather. Also, UCB has convenient transportation, etc.

UCB and UCLA are both the top UC’s. Choose where you think you will be happy for the next four years of your life. I hope your realize that the MBA is the new Business BA.

How far apart are the rankings between UCLA and UCB? If they are only a few positions apart, then the difference should be miniscule.
