<p>Hi, I'm debating about whether to go to UCLA or UCI. I'm planning on majoring in civil engineering so if anyone has gone through UCI's civil engineering program, can you tell me how it is? After calculating my costs, I will save about 30,000 after the four years if I go to UCI. I know UCLA is a better school, but I'm not sure if spending an extra 30,000 is worth it. I'm planning to go to graduate school (anyone know of any in Southern California?) so my first school may not be as important.</p>

<p>30000 is one year of pay. I would choose UCI in the same situation. I think UCLA has more prestige that's all.</p>
