I have narrowed my options down to UCLA or UCSD. I plan on majoring in Environmental Systems at UCSD or Environmental Science at UCLA. Being a SD resident, it would beneficial to go to SD because my family is close by if I do need anything, and if my dad's condition gets worse, I will be able to visit home often. LA appeals to me because it will force me to be independent.

What I need help on is comparing the GE requirements of the college I am going to to the requirements of my major. At UCSD, I will be attending Eleanor Roosevelt College: http://www.ucsd.edu/_files/6collegescompared.pdf , http://ucsd.edu/catalog/curric/ESYS.html .
At UCLA, I will be attending the College of Letters and Science: http://www.registrar.ucla.edu/ge/GETable2013-14.pdf , http://www.environment.ucla.edu/academics/major . In your opinion, which university would it be easier to complete requirements in for the major?

If anyone could provide any information on which campus is better for Environmental Science, that would be great!
Also, if anyone knows which university's area has a better chance to get an internship in this field, that would be helpful as well!
