UCLA versus Berkeley Anthropology

Hi guys,
I was accepted to both UCLA and UCB for anthropology. They each have their pros and cons (Berkeley is closer to home so that’s a plus, but I was also accepted as a spring transfer and not for fall). Does anyone have any information on the two different anthropology departments or know someone who is involved in them? I’m interested in sociocultural anthro but am also drawn to physical/biological anthro as well. I also plan on going to graduate school (looking into masters/PhD or business schools).

Any help is appreciated!!

@busybee2 I can only say I have a new respect for closer to home, and now realize why so many kids go to schools near their families. My daughter was going to go to UCLA last year. It didn’t work out but it was for the best because she realized she really wanted to be closer to home.
A lot of parents and advisors have told me that in general, the kids end up being happier nearer home (not always, of course).

Plus, if you really think you will move back to bay area after college, think about the friends you’ll make. The majority will be living and remaining in LA after graduation if you go to UCLA. Of course, you might want to remain there.

If you are planning to go to Berkeley, your classmates will more likely stay in the Bay Area.
