heeelp,
I just learned i got in berkeley today. I already submitted my sir to ucla.
Assuming i ll never get into berkley because I did not finish their prereqs
I want to know which is better for psychology major?
I live one hour drive away in traffic from UCLA btw.

Same boat here.
I got into both UCLA and CAL but, I submitted SIR for UCLA (Psychology) already…
I didn’t think I could get into CAL…
I live 15 min away from UCLA so, I’m leaning more towards UCLA so far… but, I just don’t know at the moment.

You can take back your SIR…some say that Cal has the better Psychology program, which is indicated by the awards it received and research it has done. Others seem to think that they are equal…I’ve personally never heard of UCLA’s being better than Cal’s…who knows my ears are small

I’m going to point you to the grad school psychology rankings. There isn’t a truely reliable source for undergrad psych rankings. So assume the quality of the grad is closely related to the quality of the undergrad, which is a reasonable.

[Rankings - Psychology - Graduate Schools - Education - US News and World Report](http://grad-schools.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/best-graduate-schools/top-psychology-schools/rankings)

Stanford

Berkeley

Harvard

UCLA

UMich

Yale

So… obviously a marginal difference between the two.

Thank You thats helpful. I think I decided on UCLA after speaking with family members about it. Anyone know the significance of what undergrad school you attended when applying for graduate school? And does anyone know when you apply for graduate school?

Stats? What pre-req did you miss?

I have heard that UCLA’s undergrad psych program is way better than Cal’s.
Plus, its what I’m doing too. :)

What you want to do is take a look at the various research institutes at both campuses, figure out which campus has the most opportunity for research you are interested in, and go there. There really is no difference in undergrad programs.I am assuming you want to go to grad school with some type of psychology focus.
