Hope this is the right forum to post this question…
As a working professional, I am considering UCLA and JHU for a masters degree in Materials science program (via online program).
UCLA online engineering graduate program:
Acceptance rate of 58% with undergraduate GPA of 3.5. Resume/SOP and 3 letters of recommendation required. GRE score required but can be waived for a strong candidate. US news ranking of under 20 for materials science program.
JHU online engineering graduate program:
Acceptance rate of 92% with undergraduate GPA of 3.3. GRE score or letters of recommendation NOT required. US news ranking of under 20 for materials science program.
I have already been accepted to UCLA (materials science) and Michigan (manufacturing engineering), and currently awaiting decision from JHU. JHU just started to offer MS in Materials science program and UCLA will be changing from MS degree with certification in Materials science to MS in Materials science.
For those who have either completed online engineering programs at these institutions or in the progress of completing the program, do you have any suggestions? I have some time to decide as I intend to start in Fall 2015. Thanks!
