UCLA vs NYU

I know I've posted this before, but this wayy before i received any financial package.

UCLA gave me 6K in LOANS, and the rest is paid for in grants and/or scholarships.

NYU, however, only gave me 9K in grants/scholarships, and 28K in PLUS loans AND about 2K in Perkins and 2K in Stafford loans.

if money wasn't a problem, I would go to NYU in a heartbeat.

For UCLA, I'm under the major International Development Studies (because Communication isn't offered to freshmen) and for NYU I'm at the Steinhardt School for Communications.

This is a tough decision, I was hoping I could get some help on this...

for one, I'm not real passionate about UCLA because I would feel like I never left high school. About 15 kids from my school are going to UCLA, and its a twenty minute drive my home, and theres no seasons, and its going to be the same ol' same ol....

any ideas?

anyone?
BUMP

Well, My S is excited about leaving Los Angeles getting to live in the Village. Tisch was and is his first choice. The question is do you like the vibe of NYC? Hey, you really never know a place until you live and work there. So you never know.... My S will probably miss some L.A things like having wheels, his friends and sometimes the weather. That said, UCLA is really the best there is in Los Angeles and one of the best in the UC family. Think about visiting NYC and feeling it out. It may be worth it you. It is for many. NYU has always attracted the best and brightest.

UCLA is more prestigious with the grad schools, unless you got into Stern.

Both universities are well-known around the US

UCLA is cheaper for you

NYU (may) be a welcome change

If I were you, I would be leaning slightly toward UCLA. But visit NYU before you decide.
