Okay, I've been accepted at USC, UCLA, UC Berkeley, and Stanford. Really I've narrowed it down to UCLA or Stanford. The thing is, though, I was pretty confident I was going to UCLA until I found out I got into Stanford today. That makes the decision harder.

I put down linguistics for both majors, but that may change. I'm still not quite sure on what I want to do. I live pretty close to Stanford and my sister goes to UCLA and I already know people at UCLA.

Ugh...I don't know what to do, so what do you think?...I was kind of hoping I wouldn't get into Stanford that way the choice would be more obvious...

If money is not an issue I would definitely consider going to Palo Alto (closer to home!, grade inflation, I’ve heard, smaller classes, ‘elite’ school).

If money is an issue than go to LA. Although, friend says she feels “stupid” with a ~3.2 GPA, she wants to go to med school.

There are probably stricted guidelines for grading at LA then Stanford. But you should choose based on costs, IMO.

This might seem like a no brainer, (for the record I say Stanford) but it is much closer than you think considering the Linguistics major. UCLA #3 and Stanford #2

I cannot make a strong argument for choosing UCLA over Stanford. Maybe for Cal over Stanford in a few scenarios and majors. But what’s there at UCLA that there isn’t at Stanford? If this isn’t about money, you should definitely go for Stanford.
