UCLA vs. UC Berkeley Nursing

So I have been accepted into UCLA and I am currently waiting until march 29 for Berkeley. I want to become a Pediatric Nurse Practioner but idk what school is better for me. I know a lot of people have said that berkeley has a lot more prestige but they both are pretty close so i wanna go to the school that would be best for what i wanna major in. I know UCLA has a nursing program so i was thinking ucla was better for me but im not sure. Any feedback on which is better for a nursing student? (I'm currently a senior in high school).

Also, I have been debating on whether or not i should go to a UC at all or go to a CSU. I want to go to a UC because i want to go to a good school with prestige so i can get a good job but idk what is better. Is it better to go to a UC and do average or go to a CSU and do exceptional? What would more likely get me into a nursing program or graduate school? Ive searched a lot about the pro's and con's but i just don't know. NEED ADVICE ASAP :(

Congrats on getting into UCLA! Did you get into the nursing program there? (If you did, what are your SAT/GPA stats? Just curious.) I would recommend going into UCLA for undergraduate nursing. It’s direct entry, so if you got into the nursing program when you applied, then you don’t have to apply again. So basically, you’re guaranteed to be a nurse in 4 years if you do okay in your classes! Berkeley, I believe, does not have an undergraduate nursing program. I would also recommend Irvine - that’s also direct entry. Aim for the UC’s!

I did not know they had a nursing program before so I didn’t apply :frowning: is there any chance I can apply after I finish my 2 years of general education? My GPA from high school is a 4.2.

Aw, that’s a bummer. Well, I’m sure you can try to transfer in, but I heard it’s really difficult to do so. It really depends how you do during those two years in that case.
