UCLA vs. UC Berkeley

I know there are a lot of questions like this out there, but I still haven't found what I'm looking for. I got accepted to both UCLA and UC Berkeley. I am having a hard time deciding between the two. I am an English major. I am a female. I would eventually like to go into editing/publication or writing. I prefer environments that are clean and beautiful. I prefer small town settings with foliage than big cities that are densely populated (I know that both are near big cities). Here's what I have so far:

UCLA
Pros:
-weather (I've lived in SoCal my whole life and enjoy the weather)
-one of my close friends is going there! :)
-it is close to my home (about 1 hour)
-it is in a nice area
-and of course, it's a great school
Cons:
-quarter system (blech)
-I would not be experiencing a different area
-it is not as highly ranked as Berkeley for my major (English)
-UCLA seems to be more of a big-city environment than Berkeley (correct me if I'm wrong)

Berkeley
Pros:
-it is one of the best schools for an English major
-I would be experiencing a new area and new people
-I've heard the food is good...?
-semester system
Cons:
-it is far from my home (about 6 or 7 hours)
-weather (colder and gloomier than I'm used to)
-from what I've heard, it is not in a very nice area
-I have no friends going to Berkeley

So, which should I choose. I know it's my choice and I should visit the campuses (I will, don't worry), but please provide an opinion anyway! Also, if there are any of your own pros/cons that you can think of, please tell me. Thanks for reading :)

there are a zillion of these cal vs ucla threads. search for one that might help!

Don’t worry about friends. Just go to Berkeley! You will get chance to make a lot more friends once you reach there.
