UCLA vs. UCB controversy

anon5524485,

The problem with your assertion is that … it’s hard to assess which programs are better and which school’s programs are those offered at, that’s why we only have to rely on the school’s academic prestige, in which case, Cal is superior to UCLA. I also think that Cal and Harvard have the same academic standards only that Harvard undergrad is more prestigious.

LA is literally THE black hole of materialism and birthplace to the notion that one's worth is in direct proportion to the girth of his wallet.

My family isn't that well off and we've never felt this way about LA. I love LA and probably will live here the rest of my life. I used to live out in the East Coast and I hated it.

By the way, IMO:

UCLA>UCB

For Cal, UCLA, and UCI <auto-admission tier=""> is gone. For UCSD and everyone else, if your numbers add up to a certain point, you will get in.

</auto-admission>

Wow, do you know when the admission-policy changed? I'm surprised that UCI would adopt this policy, when I was there it seemed like every other student was there as a 2nd-choice (i.e. rejected from UCLA/UCB...)

Foreman, in what way do you find UCL better than Cal. I'm hoping it's not academic related.

Oh man and wouldn't that be insane if I thought that! AFTER ALL, US NEWS RANKED CAL AT 21, AND UCLA AT 25, THUS CAL>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>UCLA^10.

Actually, I don't really care that Cal is slightly better academically (according to US News, which I couldn't be paid to give a **** about). For me, it's the location that seals the deal.
