Alright, so to my great surprise I got accepted to both of these schools and I'm not sure which to go to. I was leaning UCLA prior to the decisions but now that I got into both, I've been giving it hard thought. I've grown up in the greater LA area and I've been here pretty much my whole life so I am used to it here. The only things I dont like about LA is the traffic and the crowding, but other than that I love it here. Part of me wants to leave LA for these reason and go to a new area (berkeley/san fran) to start fresh, but another part of me doesnt want to chance it or leave my friends and family behind.
I know Cal is more prestigious and all of that but is it really that significant? I almost feel peer pressured at the moment by my family who wants to see me choose Cal..but idk lol. Also, being truthful here, the social life and female prospects are very important to me and I've heard that the women aren't much to look at at Cal and the social life is lacking. Is this true? Which school has better networking/connections for business/politics? Also, are there any perks that Cal has to offer that UCLA, doesn't?

I am on the same boat. My major is psych, though. The results came out 2 weeks ago but still I can’t decide!

I am also deciding between Cal and UCLA as a fellow Poli Sci major. I’m from Norcal, hate LA, but am still leaning towards UCLA. The weather and social atmosphere seems to be superior at UCLA, and I figure the school that i am happiest at is the school I will achieve more at. Prestige is one thing-just because Cal is “better” does not mean you will get a “better” job. It’s all what you make of it. Having said that, it has been extremely hard for me just to turn down the #1 public school in the world…

Got into both as a poll sci… chose Cal. I just can’t see myself at UCLA not a good fit for me. Cal is more my style.

Go where you feel is right they are both great schools.

Have you visited both of them.
