Hi!
I got into both UCLA and UCI for Biology (I got into the honors program at UCI) and am having trouble deciding which one to go to.
Here’s how I see it:
On one hand, UCLA is in an amazing location, with so many opportunities and diversity, and I feel like it would be a lot of fun for me there. It would provide me with a great network of friends. However, I’m worried about getting the classes I need there because there are so many people in my major. Furthermore, I’m worried that I might not do well in classes because of the competition there, and this might affect my chances at Medical School.
Irvine, on the other hand, is more low-key and serious, and there doesn’t seem like as much to do. However, because I got into the honors program, I would get priority registration. Furthermore, graduating with honors would give me a boost for graduate school. Plus, it would be much easier getting good grades there, putting me ahead for medical school.
Could someone share any advice on this or any experiences about their academic life in UCLA or UCI?
It would be so helpful. I’m a super indecisive person…
