ok, i made a mistake of going to 4 years private uni in cali and now i am thinking of transferring to a UC uni. My first year Gpa was 3.7 and i m going to be a sop this fall. Will i be able to get into ucla or ucsb or ucr if i maintain my GPA? My major is accounting and i am wondering which schools, ucsb or ucr, would be better for my major? I heard ucsb is a party skool n ucr is rather boring......

i think ur probaly in for ucsb and ucr and ucla probaly 50/50 or maybe a good shot? obviously for business ucla is gona be the best one cuz its a top 25 university. what private school in cali?

whi dont u chek out uci? i say its regarded more highly than ucsb and ucr. honestly, ucr and ucsb will probaly be not much different from the private university you go to in terms of recruitment for jobs in business.

Well UCI doesn't have an accounting major.

DON'T GO TO UCR.

So try out for Business Economics with an emphasis in Accounting at either UCLA or UCSB, and then try to transfer.

Although UCSB is a party school, the Business Economics students do benefit from the program. Although not as much as they would benefit from the program at UCLA.

UCLA: Better program.
UCSB: Good program, party school (which could be good).

So pick between either of those two.

the average GPA for transfers to UCLA's business economics program is 3.8

none of your 3 schools have accounting as a major. ucla and ucsb have it as a minor though (usually combined with a business-economics major). i'm not 100% sure but i believe UCR has business administration major only with no accounting minor. UCLA accounting minors get HEAVILY recruited by the big 4 accounting firms (serious!)

where do you currently go, just out of curiosity?

UCI has a business economics major with an accounting minor.

UCI is expected to be getting a business major in Fall of 2007.

i went into university of san diego. the school fees is getting ridiculous and i also want to try live outside of my home

if you wanna do accounting the UC's that have concentrations / minors in them are UCLA, UCB, UCI, UCSB and UCR. with a 3.7 you should have a good shot at all of them except for UCB and UCLA (though i think u have a good shot at LA).
