UCLA vs UCSD vs CalPolySLO vs Berkeley(Maybe) for engineering

Hey guys. I've been admitted to the first 3 colleges I mentioned in the title and was waitlisted at Berkeley, but I am having a hard time deciding between these schools. I've visited all these campuses and I haven't really fallen in love with any. I'll start off by saying that I applied for engineering, but I'm still unsure as to what I want to do in this field. I've narrowed it down to either mechanical or computer engineering, but because of this, I would like to go to a school where it is relatively easy to change my major, because I definitely plan to. I also would really like the ability to take classes outside my major that I want to take (ie. Music, woodshop, welding, etc) but where I can take relatively minimal GE classes like english, history, etc.

I'm not really deterred much by schools that are said to have a weak party environment, because I'm just not that type of person. And the last main thing I want from a college is the ease with which I can get internships and do research with my professors. I hope to do internships every summer if I can, and would like a school where these opportunities are much readily available and provided to students.

Any advice at all would be appreciated on any of these schools, even on Berkeley because waitlist decisions come out soon. Thanks :)

Just as a little PS, I intend to go to grad school so whichever one of these colleges would best prepare me for that would be great.

UCs are research institutions, CSUs are not. You will find few opportunities for research at Cal Poly, a school that does not offer doctorates in the College of Engineering.

What type of graduate degree are you going to pursue? A terminal degree, such as a Master of Engineering or a doctorate?

A doctorate ideally, but I didn’t mean that I would like to attend grad school at the same university where I got my undergrad degree.
