wow, you are truly amazing.

dude, it wont matter which school you pick. If you want to go to grad school, either one will get you there. Just get good grades and try to do undergrad research if that is your goal.

If you are so worried about prestige, just go to UIUC already and stop acting like a child with your questions. USNews IS NOT everything. For instance, do you want to spend your winters with wind and snow or would you like to go to the beach on the weekends in Feb/ Mar. The schools are closely enough ranked that academically they are equivalent. That means same opportunities-research, on campus recruiting, chance to go to top grad school.

The difference is in the soft factors like weather, location, clubs. You asked and plenty people have given you advice. There is not much more I or anyone else can tell you.

UCLA is what a top 25 engineering school overall. It is also a school where ALOT of the majors are ranked top 25-math, medicine, social sciences,…way more than UIUC. That will be a good overall education that will give you a sense of areas of different areas that could use help with computing. Los Angeles is the mecca of international cities and all types of races and cultures will be represented not only on campus but the city as well.
The guy that first developed network theory and the first router still freakin teaches there for gods sake.

UIUC is one of the top programs for computer science. You will receive an outstanding technical education there. You can do anything you want coming out of UIUC.

Now you asked for recommendations. From my point of view, I would rather go to a school in a warm climate. And when school gets out, you are not stuck in a medium sized city. You are smack dab in the middle of the largest metro areas in the US. You can explore world class museums and the capital of the Entertainment industry to name a few. If you want to do computer graphics, there are tons of companies that you can work for a bus ride away. If you want to do business, there are tons of business… Facebook, Apple, Google…big companies hire from both campuses. So I ask…which one would you rather go to? The one that is ranked some spots higher in a magazine in the middle of nowhere or a place that numerous people have stated that will get you the same opportunities but in a more vibrant city with a better lifestyle.

Try to visit both if you can then make your decision.

Good luck.
