After reading the thread on Cal vs. UCLA vs. UCSD, it sounds like it is hard to get due to over crowded classrooms (less personal attention).

Therefore, if you get more than one acceptance between these schools, isn't it better to take USC because you can get your classes and get more individual attention? After all, people say Defense Against the Dark Arts is hard and it would seem reasonable that the extra individual attention at USC is very beneficial.

Hm...I'm still waiting to hear from USC...I got accepted to UCLA today though. Honestly, if USC gives me a pretty darn good financial package...there's a very good chance I'll choose USC over UCLA. ducks

--> Not everyone needs it.

Well, what's your major?
What are the costs of attending...?
What do you want to do after college...

if you want to pay $20k a year for extra hand-holding, be my guest.
if you get fin aid and the price is the same, if you want the stigma of U$C for extra hand-holding, be my guest.

if you want people to know that you are an individual who is self-sufficient and can seek out your own success, come to UCLA! :)

oh but liyana -- self-sufficiency? no hand-holding? when is that just an excuse for the university's inability to accommodate its students? ok yeah i know you get what you pay for (or not). it's one thing to be 'hand-held' and another having resources available to you. for all that effort - plowing through the masses, earning your degree to a large extent by yourself... bypassing bureaucracy... where would this same energy get you at a different place? is it necessary to work that hard to get what you should get from your education...?

why would you need to do all of that grunt work? wouldnt it be more conducive to just get to the point, work efficiently?

no stigma for 'hand-holding.' i wouldnt choose ucla over usc (all others things being equal) for the chance to bust my tail for no apparent reason except to show that i could . . . bitter pills to swallow etc etc im managing however . . .

UCLA's DADA department is much better than USC's DADA

why? because that CS buikding whatever is called somethign like mudblood and because i took a chem class freshman year with a guy who looked like draco malfoy with scerri and his british accent?? hmm?
