UCLA vs. USC Spring vs. CMC

Hi everyone!

I was offered admission to UCLA ($62K), USC Spring ($70K), and CMC ($52K). If I were to go to USC, I would most likely study abroad in Switzerland for the fall and have the credits transfer over to USC when I start. At CMC, I got a scholarship of $15K per year, but money is not a huge factor at the moment so any school would be financially affordable.

I am really undecided in my career plans. I am thinking pre-law but I am not too sure about that at the moment. I want the “college experience” and I feel for that, UCLA would be the best but I am concerned about advising and getting the classes I want.

I’m not a party person and I have heard that CMC has a large emphasis on that whereas UCLA, of course, has parties, but there are enough people to find your own niche/group. Also, CMC location is nowhere near as ideal as UCLA so I am worried about getting internships during the school year and in general. I know CMC offers a lot of benefits though such as the small classes, advising, career services, etc.

I’m really stuck and not sure what to do right now. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you!

If you are pre-law, do you have money budgeted for expensive law school? If not, and you have some much less expensive options, you may want to consider those so that you can go to law school without taking on as much debt.

@ucbalumnus I have considered money for law school as well. I received a few scholarships as well so money is not a factor in choosing between these colleges.

bump

bump… I am now between UCLA vs. UC Berkeley vs. CMC. I am completely undeclared so ignore the pre-med vs. pre-law, I’m really not sure what I want to do right now for the future. I visited CMC this past weekend and really loved it (great food, close interaction with faculty, learned more about sponsored internships, friendly students), but I’m concerned about what else there is to do on weekends other than party and I wonder if the campus will feel really small for me after a while. Help?
